Aviatrans Hotel

I found this hotel seriously disappointing and unlike what was advertised online. The rooms were outdated and dirty, with a strong unpleasant smell, and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. The bathroom smelled bad and had broken fixtures. There was almost no service or hospitality from the staff. Worst of all was the manager's behavior when I complained. He was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. It's listed as 4 stars on Booking, but the experience felt closer to 2-3 stars at best, which seems to match its lower Google rating. I found that misleading and unacceptable. I don't recommend this hotel at all.

Being able to walk to lots of attractions and activities from this central location was a real plus. The reception team were friendly, though they spoke limited English. The rooms were okay, but for a three-star hotel they could use a more modern feel and a better clean. Breakfast was a letdown, with very few options and cheap-quality food, and there were no in-room safes. It’s rated three stars, but to me it felt closer to two.

The bathroom had small cockroaches, and the room never felt properly warm. In late November they switched off the radiator heat in the evenings and overnight, so guests were told to use the old, noisy air conditioner, which still couldn't heat the whole room. Breakfast was served at 8 instead of 7. The stay felt uncomfortable and poorly organized.

Getting around was easy: the hotel is right in the city center, only a few meters from the History Museum and a metro station. The rooms are old but clean, spacious, and well kept, and breakfast was decent, though the dining area was busy much of the time. Sleeping was the main problem for me. The mattress and pillows need replacing, and the bed wasn't good. Staff were also rude and unfriendly, especially at reception. The night groom was grumpy too and acted as if helping me was a favor.
