The stay at Cascade Hotel was good until checkout. I was there with a friend from the 29th to the 1st, and we were both extremely sick with the flu. We ordered food from outside and didn’t have any cold water or alcohol, so we never touched the minibar. Still, at checkout, staff said we owed money for a beer and a bottle of water. They insisted the items had been used, despite our explanation. I had a flight to catch, so I paid and left, even though we hadn’t used them. It leaves a real question about whether the minibar was checked or refilled after the previous guest, or whether the hotel made a mistake. Please double-check it when you arrive, since you could be charged for items you didn’t use, or even damage you didn’t cause. This is about accountability and fairness, not the money.

The cook at the restaurant is so sweet, always smiling, and makes delicious food. The staff are professional and help with requests, even in the middle of the night. I like this hotel because it feels like home. I don’t want to focus on the downsides, since what matters to me is the positive effect my stay had.

The morning breakfast staff were generous and considerate, and the location is hard to beat, right beside the Cascade complex and near the city center. We stayed at Hotel Cascade for three nights while visiting Yerevan. Service had some major problems, though. They wouldn’t give us a complimentary bottle of water, and when we asked to buy one, they said they had no water at all. Whenever the metro passed, the whole room vibrated. I think the line runs directly underneath the hotel. We also accidentally broke a very ordinary bathroom glass, and were charged 3000 dram, which felt like far too much for such a basic glass. They need to improve their service, especially with other places near the town center available.

It’s a small hotel with just a few people, and that gives it a calm, peaceful, almost home-like feel. Being right beside Cascade Park is another big plus. The staff were attentive, and breakfast was fine. There aren’t facilities or a good view, but the price is reasonable if you’ll be out on day trips most of the time. I’d recommend it to travelers in Armenia, and I’ll stay here again when I return.

The location is awesome, and the room was serviced daily even when we didn’t ask. Breakfast was a letdown for us as vegetarians: bread, butter, fruit, salads, and hot and cold drinks were the only choices. Nobody offered to prepare a hot breakfast or asked what we could eat. Water was another disappointment. There was one bottle in our room on arrival, and they charged 400 dram for it. We didn’t know water cost extra. We bought two more small bottles and were charged 1300 dram, which is crazy. Big bottles cost 220 dram at the supermarket, so it felt like tourists were being looted. Bring your own water if you stay here.
