Caucasus Hotel

The layout and construction were really unusual and nice, more like a duplex villa, and we had a great stay. The hotel itself was nice, though breakfast was below average. It’s also away from the city center.

We had a large group of 18 and enjoyed our stay. Our family suite was a duplex, with the beds upstairs. The place has pools, a sauna, steam room, and restaurant, and the staff were very friendly. Only a few staff members spoke English, so communication could be difficult. It’s a bit far from the city, but works well for a calm, relaxing getaway.

Reception staff were at least very helpful. The hotel is so far out of town that I lost at least 1 hour a day traveling into the city, though that was my fault for not checking the location more carefully. Breakfast was mostly inedible: cured meats and cucumber were cut in a big batch, wrapped in cling film, and put out again and again for at least days, maybe longer. I checked out at 0730am and took a juice from the breakfast hall, but they tried to charge me because breakfast supposedly didn’t start until 9am. I couldn’t get coffee without paying either.

The room was tidy, but check-in was a problem. When we booked in February 2022, we included an extra bed for our child and gave the child’s age. At check-in, the receptionist said the booking meant a baby cot, and that we’d have to pay for an additional bed. We checked the booking again and, the next day before checkout, told him the extra bed had already been included and paid for. We weren’t making a fuss since we were leaving, but he said he wouldn’t refund the money and apologized. They weren’t very supportive.
