Homestay Hotel

I enjoyed my stay once I got there. The hotel is clean, modern, and comfortable, but finding it at night was quite an adventure. My taxi driver had the address in his GPS, yet when we arrived there was no sign of a hotel. We walked up and down the street and asked locals, still with no luck. Eventually the driver called someone, and a person appeared on a balcony several floors up. The hotel is on the upper floors of an old apartment building, with no signs to show it’s there. One doorbell had a name on it, but it was impossible to read in the dark.

The terrace is lovely, and there’s a shared room you can use. You’re also close to pretty much everything, including two supermarkets. The staff are friendly and laundry is available. My only gripe was the AC: even set to 16C, it took several hours to cool the room properly. Finding the place can be tricky since there’s no big sign, just a small one by the buzzer. It’s a good place, though there’s no private parking.

The central location makes it easy to walk to the main sights, and the reception is open around the clock. Staff were helpful and quick to respond through booking, and they can arrange a taxi for an extra charge if you’re arriving late. Wi-Fi was decent, and cleaning happens every three days. The accommodation is on the top floor of an apartment building, with residents on the first two floors. There’s no clear entrance sign, and you have to ring the intercom to get in, which could be confusing at night. Once inside, you may hear hallway noise because the soundproofing isn’t great. Our spring mattresses were old, curved, uncomfortable, and squeaky when we turned. The bathroom hadn’t been cleaned thoroughly, especially the shower, which had old soap and water marks, and there were stains on the room walls too. A flickering light stopped on its own. The staff were willing to help with it, which I appreciated, but when I asked about the mattress, they couldn’t do anything. Good service overall, though light sleepers may struggle.
