Hotel Apollon

We stayed at the Artsakh Hotel for a week and had a memorable, nostalgic time. Everything was neat and carefully taken care of, right down to the little details in the room. Breakfast was excellent and varied, though it started late for me as an early riser, at 8:30. The staff were polite, pleasant, and helpful. The location worked well, with just two metro stops to the city center. It wasn’t so central that it felt annoyingly crowded, but it wasn’t so far that getting around was hard. We also appreciated the parking lot since we traveled by car. I’ve stayed at and reviewed many places, and couldn’t find a flaw here. Hope we can come back in a few years.

The room was spacious, almost like a studio apartment, and very big for one person. Staff were accommodating, and one of them helped me get a taxi to the airport. The hotel is outside the center, about a 20-30 minute Metro ride from attractions, and there aren’t restaurants nearby. For food, you have to walk about 15 minutes to Yerevan Mall or Yerevan Market. There’s a small convenience store in front of the hotel. Breakfast is buffet style, but wasn’t too great.

Good value for money, and the staff were lovely and very helpful. It’s not in the town center, but the metro is only about a 500-meter walk and takes you into the main town. Breakfast was OK, though it starts at 8:30, which felt a bit late to me. Maybe I’m just an early person!

We had a great stay at Artsakh. The neighborhood was quiet, and since we had a car it was easy to roam around. Yerevan mall and Yerevan market are also within walking distance for shopping. Parking wasn’t an issue with our rental car in Armenia. There’s plenty of reserved parking, and you can park along the street too. Our double standard room had a queen-size bed, a mini dining table, and a sofa, which we loved. It was spacious, had a room heater, and came with the necessities plus complimentary coffee, tea, and water. The receptionist, whose name I forgot to ask, spoke English very well, which was a big plus because communication can be difficult in some areas of Armenia. The staff greeted us with smiles. Breakfast starts late, at 8:30 or 9 a.m., which might not suit you if you have an early appointment.
