Marnar Hotel

The little garden was a lovely place to unwind in the evenings, and our week at Marnar Hotel made a very comfortable family stay. It’s about a 20-minute walk to the city center and 10 minutes to the US Embassy, with a 24-hour supermarket, bakery, and bus stop nearby. The hotel was spotless and well kept, including the towels and sheets, so we didn’t use our own. The staff were warm and helpful, especially Mrs. Hasmik. Breakfast had plenty of fresh, local food, and the breakfast staff kindly arranged cold milk for our daughter each day. When we had to leave early, they packed breakfast for us the night before. Mrs. Hasmik also lent me her hair dryer when I realized I’d forgotten mine. We were very happy with the hospitality, location, and accommodations, and would recommend it to visitors to Yerevan.

They canceled my confirmed reservation just one day before check-in, even though I’d booked well ahead. The way they handled it was rude and unprofessional. First they tried to send me to another hotel with unacceptable conditions. After I refused, they offered a different option, then withdrew that offer too, leaving me scrambling to find somewhere at the last minute. It seemed clear they’d overbooked and weren’t honoring my booking. I’d avoid relying on this hotel, especially for a short trip.

The owners were kind and helpful, and they let us leave our bags while we went on a tour before departure. Breakfast was a real plus, fresh and homemade. Our room, though, was too small, and there was no shower curtain separating the shower from the toilet, so the floor got a bit slippery. It has what you need for a night or two. The hotel is across from the bus station, about a 20-minute walk from the city center. It feels like a suburban area, with a small shop nearby and a pharmacy and market a little farther away.

We first booked two nights, liked everything so much that we came back. The rooms, service, and price were all 10/10. It’s run by a really nice and helpful local family. Definitely recommend it.
