The rooms were tidy, clean, and well maintained, and the restaurant staff were welcoming and respectful. But Nana at reception made us feel unwelcome and unsupported. We found her arrogant and unhelpful when we asked for things, and when the restaurant staff had trouble understanding our food order, she wouldn’t translate even though she speaks English. She rudely told us to come down and sort it out ourselves. We also asked Nana about local attractions, but she wouldn’t advise or help us. At checkout we saw a list of attraction prices at reception, which she could easily have shown us earlier. Her attitude left us feeling that guests might not be treated equally, and it overshadowed the good parts of the stay. Reception is the first impression in hospitality, and hers wasn’t approachable, courteous, or welcoming.

The buffet breakfast was decent, though there wasn’t much variety, and the eggs were made with too much oil. You could ask to have them customized. The heater worked well, and the views were nice, mostly city and mountains. Our room and the shared spaces were very clean, the bed was quite comfortable, and the stay felt warm and cozy. Police were always guarding the area because some political leaders live nearby.

The room matched the listing exactly, and the pool was great. The pool bar and menu were reasonably priced. Breakfast was pathetic, with too little choice and poor quality. For a four-star hotel at that price, they need to do much more. Reception and housekeeping were very friendly, but the hotel felt understaffed, probably because management wants to save money at the customer's expense.

The outdoor pool was the highlight for me in summer. It was clean and well kept, and a nice place to relax and cool off. The restaurant was great too. Staff were friendly and attentive, and did a lot to make us feel welcome and comfortable. President Hotel made for a comfortable, enjoyable summer stay in Yerevan, Armenia.
