The fountain is the centerpiece, putting on a water show in time with the music. By day, the buildings around Republic Square are impressive, and once evening comes their volcanic pink walls light up beautifully. What a view.

Stepping out of the station, you get a lovely view of Yerevan just outside. The station itself is beautiful too, with a striking feel a bit like the Piccadilly Circus stop in London.

I handed over 500 AMD for two tokens at the station ticket desk, but the woman wouldn't give me my change or any additional tokens. Watch out for staff stealing there.

I didn't like this station much. It's not awful, but it's overcrowded, and the entrance area has loads of homeless people and a really unpleasant smell. There are also too many little shops near the entrance, and the staff aren't especially kind.
