I was in my room on the fifth floor with a fever, trying to rest, when fumes started coming in. It was about 7:30 on a Saturday night, and the hotel was being fogged with what smelled like gasoline. I thought there was a fire and walked down five flights of stairs, only to find they were pumping fumes through the hotel without warning guests. The car exhaust in this city is bad enough already. Stay elsewhere if you care about your health and don't want to feel like an insect being fumigated in a box.

It's a converted building, and the hotel is a basic, low-budget option in Sumbe with what you need for a pleasant stay at a reasonable price. The trouble is when cultural activities are happening on the Sumbe marginal, since it can get quite noisy.

The room was spacious, but the bed was hard, and the bathroom smelled like pee. There were lots of mosquitoes indoors, too. Breakfast was horrible, and the staff had bad body odor. There's no restaurant for lunch or dinner, so you have to cross the street to eat.

The location is good, but there's no hotel name displayed. You'll have to ask people where it is, and I can't say why they haven't put the name up.
