Añelo Shale Hotel

The food service was the best part for me. Rest, though, was another story. Housekeeping starts early and makes a lot of noise, shouting, shifting furniture, dragging it around and banging it against the walls. It can feel like they’re doing it on purpose. They also call “Service!” from door to door. With all that noise, sleeping is impossible, even though you’ve come to the hotel to rest. The walls seem to let every sound through. They should change how they clean and show more consideration for people coming home late from work who need some peaceful sleep.

The rooms are spotless, and the kitchen and waitstaff are excellent. There’s also a gym, pool, wellness area and secure parking. Management is the weak point. I know dealing with oil workers can be difficult because some behave terribly, but staff could be a little friendlier when helping new guests.

Breakfast is served early and has a good selection. The hotel also has laundry facilities, though they won’t take underwear, along with a gym, pool and on-site parking. The food is varied and tasty, and it’s a beautiful place, one of the top-end options in Añelo. It’s a little way from the center, but only about two minutes by car.

The apartment was filthy, with ants everywhere, and the whole floor looked like it only gets cleaned every three days. Breakfast was a challenge too, trying to avoid a dirty cup or glass. The walls are paper-thin, and you can even hear someone sneeze. People living there shout between apartments like they’re in a stadium, and the reception staff are quite rude. At 5 a.m., people are already up shouting as if they’re in the stands. One of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in.
