Alt Interlaken Hotel

Great location and good staff. The spa was okay, but the hotel is in terrible condition and our room was a disaster.

The staff were nice, and the location is really close to the center!!!! The catch is that Wi-Fi only works in the lobby.

The breakfast buffet was tasty and there was plenty of it. The location is excellent and central, but I wouldn’t return. I booked hoping to use the jacuzzi, only to be told our children, aged 8 and 12, couldn’t come in. The staff were very uncooperative with children. When my daughter fell on the stairs, there was no hand sanitizer or first aid supplies, and the receptionist was completely unwilling to help. Our room looked over an interior food court, with the exhaust fan constantly making noise. The bathroom was basic: they made the beds and did a little cleaning in the toilet, but the rest was dusty. There weren’t enough clothes hooks and there was no mini-fridge. With so many guests, I don’t understand why the owners don’t invest in improving the experience.

We’d stay here again. The Wi-Fi was excellent, and Luciano, the afternoon receptionist, was especially helpful and friendly. The service and location were excellent too. We spent a week in a small economy room without a lake view. It was comfortable and spotlessly clean, and they brought us a fan during a hot spell. Almost no hotels or apartments have air conditioning here, practically not even restaurants. Breakfast was excellent, generous and very complete. Dinner didn’t have a huge range of choices, but the dishes were excellent quality and plentiful, and the waiters’ service was impeccable. There’s a gym and jacuzzi, though we never used them. Bariloche is so beautiful, we wanted to enjoy the outdoors.
