This has been my favorite place in Argentina so far. The garden is lovely to wander through and feels grounding, and there are beautiful beaches nearby. It’s a family-run place, with everyone pitching in. Breakfast includes fruit from the garden when it’s in season, and nights are quiet and restful. The host must be busy, but still makes time for an interesting chat. Come if you can.

The rooms are basic, but fit the level of the hotel, and they clean every day, which you hardly see these days. The family and reception are warm, too. Breakfast is great, with homemade bread, jams, cake, and cereal. It’s right by circuito chico, with easy access to liao liao Park, hiking trails, and cerro campanario.

Hostería Katy has the real Llao Llao spirit. It’s a wonderful, welcoming place, and the homemade breakfast is delicious. This is the area’s most traditional Hostería, 50 years old. A must!
