Breakfast at the big living room table was my favourite part of the day. The volunteers made delicious homemade bread, eggs, fruit and jam, and it was hard to leave once we got chatting with the other guests. Such a lovely way to start the morning. I planned to stay one week and ended up spending more than three weeks in this comfy, clean place in an incredibly beautiful location. The hosts, volunteers and Kaya the sweetest dog made it feel like home. Everyone was kind, sweet and fun, and my time in Bariloche became a memory for life. Thanks, Feli, Isa, Caro, Juli, Augus, Fran, Matti, Vivi y Lau. I miss you already, team Indomito! ❤️🔥🙏

We’ll remember our last night for a long time. Feli, Mona, Augus, Ramus and Caro spent the afternoon making hundreds of empanadas for our farewell, and they were the best we ate on the whole trip. They also helped us so much with Spanish, cooking, singing and, of course, mate 🧉. Thank you for an unforgettable week! The kitchen was spacious and really well equipped, which made it easy to cook every night, especially when we didn’t want to wait for the very late Argentinian dinner schedule. Breakfast was homemade, delicious and included with the room, so the hostel was great value. The staff and volunteers made it feel like home. Out of five months travelling in South America, this was our favourite place.

The staff are very, very nice and lovely. My problem is the exchange rate policy: they quote in dollars, then convert the price to pesos using the black market rate. Since many tourists, maybe most, can’t access that rate, you can end up paying much more in dollars or euros than the original quote suggests. Other hotels use the official rate, and I’m pretty sure they’re legally required to. More than once I wondered whether this hostel is breaking the law by using the black market rate. I don’t know who sets the policy, but it needs to change. It doesn’t feel fair.

By the end of the week, the other guests and volunteers felt like a little family, and I came back just a couple of weeks later for another stay. I was travelling solo, but people were so welcoming and friendly that making friends happened right away. After a day of hiking, the cozy living room was a great place to hang out. We’d also sit outside and picnic in the front yard. I absolutely loved my time at Indomito!

The owner really sets a commendable example, and the staff and volunteers are so friendly they make you feel at home. The hostel is in a great spot by the lake, near the ski resort and beautiful hikes. Best hostel in Bariloche.
