Patagonia Jazz Hostel

Really nice hostel, and the breakfast was one of the best I’ve had at a budget place.

The place had a strange feel to it. Maybe they need a feng shui specialist! Seriously, the showers were cold and breakfast was terrible. The staff were decent, but the whole stay felt very average. I wouldn’t go back.

After a 16-hour coach ride, all we wanted was a proper sleep, and we got one. The location was great, too. We’d made a mistake with our booking, but they sorted it out and changed everything without any trouble. We also really liked the big table in the middle of the hostel. People sit together and chat, so it’s easy to meet other travellers. Would we return? Absolutely, 100% yes!

The dorm mates and workers were all friendly and down to earth, and that made the stay even better. Breakfast was nicely served, and one of the workers even offered to make me eggs. The rooms were my favorite part: heated, super comfortable, with cozy sheets, desks and seats for putting your things. I could easily stay for a week. The location is central, less than five minutes from the main walking street, the beach and the Bariloche sign. There’s a shared kitchen for cooking and storing food, and two common spaces, one upstairs for working and another downstairs for hanging out, with quirky art and nature decorations. The front door uses a number pad, so you can come and go 24 hours a day. The bathrooms are a bit tight, and one night we had no water, though it was manageable. The plugs beside the beds are loose, so a charger can fall out if you’re using lots of adapters. Those could easily be replaced. I absolutely recommend this place.
