Soft Bariloche Hotel

The rooms are old and very basic, but they were fine for what we needed. I couldn’t tell whether the hotel is just dated or if the rooms were actually unclean. If you only need somewhere to sleep, it does the job. The beds are comfortable, it feels safe, the location is central, and all the staff were very nice.

We were right at the edge of a pedestrian zone, so it was easy to walk into it and to get picked up by a car just outside. The hotel’s location is terrific, and the front desk staff were friendly and very helpful. Our room was a great size. We didn’t order breakfast, so I can’t comment on it.

The price was low, and the staff were friendly and keen to help. My room may have been one of the cheaper ones, with a window looking onto a courtyard between buildings. Cigarette smoke came in from the hallway, so I had to block the gap under the door with a towel. The shower was good and the water hot. The bed and towels were decent. Wifi was a little slow at times.

The hotel is in a good location, and the views from above the 6th floor are pretty nice. It was acceptably clean, but the building looks very tired and clearly very old. The rooms can get hot. We had a portable fan in ours, though others seemed not to have one. The self check-in setup was super weird, didn’t really work, and didn’t make sense. It’s kind of self check-in, but reception still has to give you specific information. Lake-facing rooms also look onto the show off street, where people run their pimped cars up and down. I wouldn’t stay here again if I end up in bariloche.
