Hostel de Montaña Duendes del Volcan

Pamela was so attentive, always smiling, and her food was delicious. I'm very grateful to her. The location is excellent, the room is spacious, the mattress comfortable, and there was plenty of hot water in the shower around the clock. A table in the room would be useful. The breakfast schedule was a real problem for me. I was traveling with a trekking group of 50, where everyone picked their own lodging, and I mentioned the group when booking. Oscar didn't tell me the accommodation's hours were so strict: breakfast was served from 8:30 to 10:00 AM. In the middle of January, the summer sun is strong, so the group set out early for hikes. Oscar kindly served me breakfast at 8:00 AM on two days, but then said he wouldn't do that again for the next three. One day I nearly missed the bus to Copahue, and another time breakfast came at 8:45, so I missed a group hike. On my last morning I checked out at 7:20 am. Oscar helped carry my suitcase downstairs so the wooden floors wouldn't make noise, but didn't offer the breakfast I was entitled to. Some of the rules are extremely strict, and as a tourist I really don't understand them. I've traveled a lot and never experienced anything like it. I agree with your opinion, especially for people traveling in a group with fixed schedules that don't fit the accommodation's. I wish they'd explained the guidelines when I booked.

The restaurant was excellent, with delicious food from the pizzas and empanadas to the pasta. Oscar and Pamela also gave excellent service. The facilities were comfortable, and they were always ready to help and answer our questions.

The owners run this lovely place themselves, and the lady was so kind and attentive. The pizzas were delicious too. Highly recommended!!! January 2026
