Byblos Palermo Soho

We had booked three nights, but after seeing the room we left without staying even one night. The patio door was cracked and wouldn't lock, a light fixture was dangling from its wires, the window coverings were held with duct tape, and the place wasn't very clean. The actual room looked nothing like the listing pictures. We booked through Hotels.com and are still trying to resolve the refund. The only thing this place has going for it is the location.

The location was good and the view was nice, but, as other reviews say, the place felt unsafe. Our credit cards, mine and my partner's, were cloned, and we're still investigating. One photocopy was taken when we made the reservation. The other card wasn't used during the trip and I left it in the apartment in a “safe place.” We never used the two cards together anywhere, and our other cards weren't affected. The only place both had access to at the same time was this apartment. I hope it was just an unfortunate coincidence, and I'll update this once the investigation is complete.

The room was dirty and gross, nothing like the listing photos. Ants kept appearing all over the bathroom even after we complained, and there was a large spider on the bed. The towels, pillows, and blanket were stained. Even with the AC set high, the rooms stayed VERY hot. The cleaning team only made the bed and didn't actually clean the apartment. Awful stay, I don't recommend it.

The showers are badly made, and my bathroom flooded constantly. There was also mold in the bathrooms and around the AC. Byblos's backup power system runs all the time, and its exhaust pours onto the balcony apartments, filling the rooms with smoke. I've included photos of the black exhaust going into the apartment. If you care about your safety and health, don't stay here.
