06 Central Hostel Buenos Aires

I’d stay here again. It’s in a great spot, the hostel is nice, and breakfast is decent. One issue is the uncovered walkway to the bathroom: when it rains, the floor gets soaked. Also, only three of the six showers were working.

The location near the Obelisco is perfect, and the staff are very helpful. Cleaning is good, and the rooms and showers are okay, though the toilets need attention. You can tell someone has used them before, and it’s not because of the smell. The rooms don’t have individual wall chargers. Breakfast isn’t the best, but it has what you need. There were lots of Brazilians, which made the place livelier and louder. My main reason for giving four stars instead of five is the Wi-Fi. It’s really slow, and the staff didn’t seem very willing to fix it.

The room was spacious and full of light, and I slept well at night. The kitchen was clean, and there were plenty of bathrooms. It’s close to central Buenos Aires, with transport to the sights easy to find. The receptionists were very good.

The hostel is set in an old house with high ceilings, with the reception and kitchen in the middle and rooms and bathrooms around them. My room was large, clean, and air conditioned, and the staff were friendly and attentive, with maps and plenty of tips. It’s also well placed, three blocks from July 9 and around 10-15 minutes from Porto Madeiro, with restaurants, bus stops, and the metro nearby. For improvements, breakfast could include some ham, and the bath towels could be newer.
