Casa De Papa

The staff were friendly, and most of the people I met were too. But the building is run down, with repairs left half done or not done at all. The shower had mildew on the walls, and paint chips were falling into the drain. In the “private” room, the walls are just one sheet of drywall, so you can hear through them easily. Duct tape was holding one door's security mechanism together. The AC barely worked, and I woke up drenched in sweat. The professional photos on the website are way out of date, so don't trust them. This is definitely a youth hostel.

There was no way to sleep with the noise, and the place has basically no sound insulation. At 1.00 AM, the front desk employee was encouraging people to party and joining in herself, even after some guests warned her. Stay away from this awful place.

The place itself could be cleaner, but I loved the atmosphere. Great location, and the staff are really nice.

It felt like having a home in BA. Everyone was friendly and helpful, whether we wanted tips on places to see, somewhere to eat, or just a walk. Special thanks to the Pablitos and, of course, the Papa. Hope to come back soon!
