Casa Umare

The bugs were the main problem for me, and I lost sleep because of mosquitoes buzzing around my ear and biting me. There were spiders in every room, too. Our room opened onto a courtyard, and even with the windows closed, little cracks let bugs in. I ended up sleeping under the covers all night. I hope the owner can make some improvements to keep them out. The hotel is beautiful, but it doesn't quite feel like a hotel. There wasn't really anywhere to hang out, and the setup felt awkward. I'd call it an okay place to stay if you aren't expecting full hotel service. I also would have liked to let myself in without always contacting the owner. My partner and I suspect a staff member took a few hundred dollars from our bag, though we can't confirm it. We reached that conclusion through deduction and logic. I think the place has potential with some minor renovations and perhaps a different system of care.

The rooms are huge, and the claw foot tub was lovely for a bath. It felt like having an apartment refuge for a few days. Pablo, the owner, went out of his way to make me feel welcome, and Anna made yummy continental breakfast each morning. Such a warm, loving hotel. Thanks, guys. A+

The hotel is great value for what you pay. Rooms are spacious and thoughtfully designed, and the staff are absolutely excellent.

Free wifi and breakfast, plus a host who was extremely helpful and genuinely hospitable. The neighborhood feels like authentic BA, and Palermo Soho is within walking distance. The boutique hotel and its building were beautiful, and the host was outstanding. I'd 100 per cent come back when I'm in Argentina again.
