Cristal Palace Hotel

We ended up here because of a missed connection. The location was good and the people were friendly. My only complaint is that there weren't electrical outlets near the beds.

It was hot, humid, and extremely basic, with barely any service. The rooms were bare, the beds simple, and there were roaches. Dirty sheets even had someone else's hair between them. If you can avoid staying here, do it. We had to stay, and I'll do everything I can to never do that again.

The only things I liked were the location and price, though it didn't feel worth what it cost. The hotel may have been 4-star many years ago, but now the room, while large, has sparse, old furniture. The air conditioner was broken, the bed was small, and there was no sound insulation, so we could hear the corridor and neighbors. The service was poor too. One day there was no towel in my room, and after asking three times I waited two hours for one. The bathroom was large, with two sinks and a tub, but very old and in need of repair. Using the shower left the whole floor wet. The gym shown on the hotel website simply doesn't exist. Breakfast was perhaps the worst part, with few choices, cheap food, and dirty dishes.

The rooms were dirty and noisy, and the equipment was very old. The air conditioner made so much noise that sleeping was impossible. Management was ineffective and disrespectful. I reported a faulty toilet on December 29 because it was leaking and making noise; eventually it overflowed and affected the whole room. They took six days to fix it. A light had an electrical shortcut as well, and that also took six days to arrange. Management mistreated employees, and two resigned during my stay at this fake and decadent hotel. They also charged my credit card without authorization or telling me. The management is corrupted.
