Hotel Cristoforo Colombo

I wouldn't stay at a hotel with a Palestinian flag hanging there.

The location and service were both great. The hotel needs some preventive maintenance, though: only one of its four lifts was working.

The staff at reception deserve credit. The woman quickly moved us from the eighth floor to the seventh, where the bathroom was better. The rest of that room still had marks on the walls and doors, a noisy fridge in the living room, dangling TV cables, and mold in the bathroom. Our first room was simply disgusting, with filthy walls and bathroom and a lot of noise. The photos don't show what the rooms are actually like: the furniture is poor, the old air conditioning units are loud, the kitchen furniture is broken, and the walls and doors are covered in scratches and marks. Checkout was a mess too. We had asked to pay in advance because we were rushing to catch a 7 a.m. flight, but they insisted we pay at checkout. The security guard was awake, but no one was at reception, so we had to wait and then deal with a slow payment process. He barely spoke English. At a hotel this big, the checkout staff should be able to manage basic conversation in English. I wouldn't recommend it. The place is awful, and there are much better hotels in Buenos Aires for the same price.

The staff weren't very friendly, and breakfast was bad. The hotel is nothing like the photos, which felt like false advertising. When we arrived, we were disappointed: the apartments were very old and didn't match the pictures. They need better cleaning. Amadeus on the roof doesn't exist, just a roof with a few barely adequate places to sit. There are also very few places to sit by the pool.
