Doubletree By Hilton Buenos Aires

The staff did their best and were attentive, even with a very busy hotel full of large groups and business travelers. We were lucky to get an early check-in, and the noon checkout time was generous. Breakfast was decent, especially the selection of fruit and pastries. The room was very worn and dated. That wouldn’t bother me if it had the basics, but we were missing washcloths and tissues. The shampoo dispenser was empty, the body wash was watered down so much it barely worked, and there was no bar soap. There was also no complimentary water bottle, as I usually find at other four-star hotels, or in-room coffee, though there was a kettle for tea. Between those gaps and the general dinginess, the room wasn’t worth what we paid. I got the impression the hotel is under-resourced.

The free breakfast for diamond members on level 1 was pretty basic and not especially healthy. The only hot dishes were bacon, sausage, sunny side up eggs, and scrambled eggs. The massage was terrible, though there’s also a small gym and pool. The room fit three big suitcases comfortably. There are lots of nearby bars, coffee shops, and restaurants, while the main shopping strip is three blocks away, which keeps things quiet. Wifi worked perfectly and was fast enough to stream many services on the smart TV. Concierge staff, especially Leonardo and Ellian, and front desk staff, especially Claudia and Laila, were super friendly.

We had a corner room on the 4th floor with 2 double beds and stayed around 6 days over the weekend for a wedding at the Cathedral around the block. We couldn’t have picked a better spot. Hilton properties are usually clean and comfortable, and the staff here were attentive too. I work out, so I loved having a hot tub, pool, gym, HOT swedish dry sauna, and clean locker rooms with showers. The lobby was clean and had a restaurant serving breakfast, but we didn’t get to try it since it was too early for our late nights in BSAS. I’ll stay here again when I come back.

The location was convenient, with lots of restaurants, the waterfront, a ferry terminal, and other sites within walking distance. It’s on a side street, so getting an Uber was easy. Our rooms were clean and quiet, and the front desk employees were nice. The bellboys were always cheerful when we returned from exploring. We had continental breakfast each day. It was sufficient, well stocked, and fresh, with nice attendants.
