Hotel Hispanoargentino, 3/5 The room itself had a comfortable double bed, with a bedside table on each side, and the shower had great pressure and temperature. There was a toilet and bidet, plus two shampoo sachets, two conditioners, and two bars of soap. The sliding wooden bathroom door had worn or unbalanced wheels, so opening and closing it took both hands. We only got three small towels for two people, no bath towels, though there was enough toilet paper. Getting there was easy to arrange: we found the hotel on Google Maps, and the phone call was excellent, with quick information about rates and availability. There wasn't a fixed check-in time, but they said we could arrive between 7 PM and 10 AM the next morning, breakfast included. At check-in Carolina seemed somewhat apprehensive or prejudiced because we are blind, and put us on the ground floor. After that, her service was very good and she was always available. The housekeeper was still getting the room ready, so Carolina kindly offered us complimentary coffee. The building needs general maintenance. We were first assigned a street-facing room, but its split air conditioner wouldn't heat because the compressor wouldn't start. The manager couldn't get it going either. Rooms 1 and 2 also had no heating function, so we were finally moved to room 7, which had a small sliding skylight near the ceiling. The remote's batteries were almost dead; I got it to work by reversing them. There was no room phone, so we called the landline from our cell phones, and luckily they answered quickly. The room also had a melamine wardrobe with sliding doors and old wooden and wire hangers, a breakfast table, chair, stool, hot and cold water dispenser, and a Smart TV we couldn't connect to Wi-Fi. We unplugged the TV to use the table outlet for our own electric kettle. The dining area is small and has another water dispenser. Eli greeted us kindly in the morning. Breakfast was a drink of our choice, coffee, coffee with milk, tea, or yerba mate, served by Eli, along with one croissant per person, individual rolls, and dulce de leche and jam dips, all on plastic dishes. The reception has a vintage feel, with a decorative coin-operated payphone and a 14-inch television. We appreciated the night receptionist filling our bottles with cold water. At checkout, the receptionist tried to help us order an Uber, but two rides were canceled because of location problems in the app, so we walked. As an anecdote, my partner and Eli discovered they have a blind friend in common. For the upkeep and services, we felt the price was high. They also add a 5% surcharge for debit card or bank transfer payments instead of cash.
