Breakfast was awful, and someone stole my friend's headphones. The place itself felt depressing and boring, and the workers were unpleasant to us, apart from the woman who cleaned, who was really nice. Rain was coming through while we ate breakfast, and we'd rather go out into the cold rain than stay inside. The hostel is ugly, so I think it should cost a lot less, especially since I've seen much better hostels at the same price. I stayed here in 2008 and it was really good, but when I came back last week with two friends, they charged us $250 more than the price in the email THEY sent us. The original prices were even posted on a sign at reception, the same ones shown on their website and emailed to us. That extra amount worked out to about us$10 more per person per day. It was the worst week of my life.

The price is lower than at some hostels in other neighborhoods, so that's why I'd give it three stars. Breakfast was included, and they had computers. They kept the bathroom clean, but my sheets had dirty spots. Upstairs in summer it gets ridiculously hot. They gave me a fan, but I still sweated all night, with my room feeling like it was around 30°C.

I haven't stayed at the hostel myself, but I called because my son and his friends are there and wanted to speak with him. The service man who answered hung up on me without saying anything, and it happened twice. I tried another number too, but nobody answered, like they wouldn't pick up. This was on Christmas Day. Merry Christmas, everyone!

A spacious hostel with great quality, close to everything you need. There are also lots of really accessible tour activities right inside.

The whole building seems like it could fall down at any moment. The rooms and toilets are terrible too.
