Dolmen Hotel

The location is central and easy to reach, though the area is very crowded. Breakfast was okay and the cleaning was good, but the room felt like it belonged to the previous century. The carpets were thorny, taps leaked, there was a musty smell, the air conditioning couldn’t be controlled, and the escalators were very slow. This isn’t the four-star hotel it claims to be.

The staff were all very nice, and the entrance looks beautiful. We were greeted in a friendly, professional way, but the rest of the stay didn’t match that first impression. Noise came through from neighboring rooms, the hall, and the street. The tiny bathroom needs upkeep: the shower tub leaked and the tap fixtures were loose. The bed was uncomfortable too. The pool was dirty, its roof was broken, the jacuzzi had been drained, and the beach chairs were broken. Given all that, I don’t understand the high rating.

Housekeeping and the front desk staff were amazing, though some other staff members weren’t good and one lifeguard was much nicer than the other. The pool area wasn’t very nice, and the hotel feels old and in need of an update. Breakfast had a good range, but the food lacked flavor. I’d rather see fewer items at better quality. I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless other hotels are full.

We had a great stay. The service was excellent, and the location made it easy to get around, with 9 de Julio a block away, restaurants, kiosks, groceries, and public transport all nearby. Breakfast was free and had everything you could want. There’s also a heated indoor pool and jacuzzi, which were great for relaxing. We found a website deal for two nights with late checkout for 23000 Argentine pesos. I’d recommend it.
