Hotel Bristol

The rooms have the character we like, and they were clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful, and despite being close to the Obelisc, the hotel was quiet. Its location also worked perfectly for visiting downtown BA, including La Casa Rosada, Plaza San Martin, Calle Corrientes, and Florida / Galerias Pacificos.

The location is the strongest point by far. For what I paid, I expected more.

The staff were friendly enough, and the hotel sits right in the heart of BA, which is a great location. But it doesn’t feel like a 4-star place: the rooms and facilities are much older than I expected, and the furniture needs updating. We were surprised by the price, though booking at the last minute didn’t leave us many options. They also charged us to store our bags for an hour, which was unexpected since that’s usually complimentary. It worked for a stay in a pinch, but we wouldn’t book it again.

The gym is pretty dope, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here. I’m paying for my attempt to save money, and this definitely doesn’t feel like a 4-star hotel. The walls are paper thin. I can hear message alerts from the room next door, along with everything else happening in the hotel, so light sleepers should find somewhere else. Housekeeping makes the bed and swaps the towels, but doesn’t even change the trash bags. My empty water bottles have been piling up for nine days. Breakfast costs a ridiculous ARS$7000 for croissants, cold cuts, cornflakes, and coffee. There’s a coffee shop next door where you can get a full American breakfast with coffee for half the price.
