Watch out if you book through bookings or expedia: they charged 50% more than the price shown. The slick guy blamed “taxes,” even though the confirmed online rate said taxes were included.

The rate went up by about 10% between making the reservation and arriving, with no warning. The neighborhood didn’t feel nice, especially at night. Rooms are tiny, everything looks old, and the bathroom is tiny too. It looked nothing like the pictures. The TV screen might be smaller than your phone, and there’s just one outlet, by the room door, so charging your phone is a problem. For what they charge, you can stay at any other hotel and surely do better.

At least I got an early check-in for free, which is why I added a star. Otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend staying here. Every room is a smoking room, so even if you don’t smoke, you’ll be in a room that is or will get stinky. It has a real 90s feel. My window faced the noisy street, so bring earplugs. Breakfast could use some vegetables. I stayed three nights and my key card stopped working every afternoon when I got back.

It’s fairly close to tourist spots, though the street feels dangerous at night. The advertised buffet breakfast was just coffee and milk, tea or mate cocido, day-old half-moons, a little butter and jam, plus powdered juice. In the room, the toilet looked dirty and was too close to the wall. Water came up from the drain whenever we showered, and the bed and pillows were uncomfortable, with a sagging mattress.
