Regal Pacific Buenos Aires

The location is the one good thing about Regal Pacific Buenos Aires. The rooms felt gloomy, with dim lighting, old furniture, and a very dated look. We booked and paid for a triple room expecting three beds, but got only two, and the response when we raised it wasn’t helpful. The front desk treatment was the most upsetting part. I saw staff being friendly and helpful to white, English-speaking guests, then acting as if they struggled to understand English when dealing with us and dismissing us coldly. We paid full price but were made to feel as though we were begging for a bed. That bias and lack of professionalism were unacceptable. We also checked out for one night to travel, then came back as repeat guests, but were charged $3 USD per luggage item for storage. I’ve stayed at many 5-star hotels around the world and never had a premium hotel nickel and dime returning guests over baggage. It showed no hospitality. The location can’t make up for the rude service and deteriorating facilities. I’d tell travelers, especially international visitors, to look elsewhere in Buenos Aires.

The rooms are large and fairly clean, but there weren’t basic amenities like slippers or shower caps. Breakfast was middling. On December 31st at 19.00 hrs I asked for coffee and was told the bar was closed and I should go out to get one. A 5-star hotel should have room service, and this one not only didn’t, it shut the bar on New Year’s Eve! Three stars from me.

The rooms are a bit dated, but the central location, fair prices, and friendly, helpful staff more than made up for that. I’d recommend Hotel Regal Pacific to friends and family.

Fantastic hotel, with a great location and very nice staff. The reception team were good too. It’s a bit pricey, but feels luxurious, and the food was good.
