La Ysidora Hotel & Spa

The park was the nicest part of our afternoon tea. We sat outside there first, then moved into the café. It’s a pretty, peaceful spot. The coffee and the cake and tart slices were fine, nothing special, and prices were about what you’d pay at other cafés nearby. Still, the park made it a lovely outing.

We went for afternoon tea, and the portions were really generous. The menu has plenty of choice, everything we had was delicious, and prices seemed reasonable. The staff were very friendly and attentive. You don’t have to be staying at the Ysidora Hotel & Spa to come for lunch, tea, or dinner. There’s a glass-enclosed room with tables, chairs, and armchairs overlooking the beautiful park, plus a pool table. Outside, a big deck has tables, umbrellas, chairs, and armchairs among the trees. It’s a peaceful place for time with friends, a partner, or family. They have their own parking and take cash and debit cards.

The pool was green and visibly dirty, so we couldn’t use it during our stay. There was no hot shower either, just lukewarm or cold water. I asked twice for the temperature problem to be fixed and got no response or solution. On Friday afternoon the room ran out of water altogether, so we couldn’t shower. One bed hadn’t been made and I had to do it myself; we also had to ask for the missing towels. The ping-pong table was there, but there were no balls available, so we never got to use it. I wrote to the owner and got no reply, so I’m posting about our stay from Friday the 21st to Sunday the 23rd. The outdoor inflatable jacuzzi shown in the Booking.com and Instagram photos wasn’t there when we arrived. The gym was a main reason we booked, since both Booking.com and the hotel’s own website advertised it as fully equipped. We were told it had been dismantled because nobody used it, and it stayed unavailable throughout. Most of the staff were warm and attentive, and I know unexpected problems can happen. But so many advertised services were missing or in poor condition that it seriously affected our vacation.

The annex is in a quiet area and well located, and it could be a much better place. Our room had maintenance issues and barely any tableware: there were no plates or cups, just one glass for everyone, and I’m not sure there was enough cutlery. Breakfast was disappointing, with stale croissants, few kinds of bread, tea but no hot water, and fruit that didn’t look fresh. The pool wasn’t open even though we went in November. The staff were friendly and clearly doing their best, but sometimes we had to look for someone or wait a long time to hear back. If you’re hoping for a massage, book it a few days ahead. They don’t mention that when you make the reservation, so you could miss out.
