This was my worst hotel stay in five months traveling around Argentina. It looks designed, but you soon see why it’s “cheap.” The photos must be years old because so much is wrong now. Most rooms have no windows, and the ones that do look onto the corridor, so there’s no natural light or privacy. My first night I got a room that smelled strongly of must, had mosquitoes, and had merula, a fungus, covering the whole ceiling. Two lights didn’t work and the tap was running. The next night, a receptionist talked on the phone with a friend all night and kept several guests awake. He was vulgar and wouldn’t apologize. After we insisted, we finally got that night refunded. The pool downstairs is tiny, dark, and gloomy. There’s no breakfast, and the rooftop outdoor area looks like it’s been abandoned for a long time. It’s no longer Mansion Vitraux, but Boutique Bar. It seems no investment has gone into the hotel since the takeover and name change. You only have to look at the front door to see the state of things. Very sad.

We stayed in one of the glam rooms, which made for a lovely romantic break for a couple. There are some decent bars and restaurants nearby, and Plaza Dorrego is about 50m away. The hotel is in an excellent spot in San Telmo, within walking distance of lots of attractions, and the staff were helpful and friendly. The layout was a bit odd and the wifi wasn’t great, but the visit was excellent.

A nicely designed, clean boutique hotel, right in the heart of San Telmo. The staff are friendly, and there are very good breakfast options. Not every room has a bathtub, but there’s a beautiful Spa/Pool to relax in.

The huge rain shower was lovely, and breakfast was excellent, with lots of choice and very fresh food. I’d definitely stay again if I visit BA. I was there during a 13 hour layover between Aeroparque and Ezeiza, arriving at 1am. They were expecting me and checked me in efficiently. The room surprised me, modern with the original high brick ceiling. I later understood why some people weren’t happy about the lack of daylight. My room,104, had a window onto a very small patio shared by all the rooms, so opening the curtain meant giving up privacy. I also saw two rooms with only a tiny window facing the hallway, which could be an issue if you’re not just coming back at night.

It’s fine, but feels like the budget airline version of a hotel. My TV didn’t work, I wasn’t “allowed” to have a friend hang out in my room, and they charge extra for room cleaning and additional keys.
