Lugar Bed & Breakfast

We picked a private room with its own bathroom as a couple, while the shared rooms and bathrooms seemed like they’d work well for solo travelers. There were friendly guys visiting from all over Bueno Aires, and we met some great people and made friends. If you want somewhere to meet like-minded guys, this is your spot. The place is easy to miss from the street, but inside it’s spacious, with a great outdoor area. The top deck has amazing views. Some of my photos show the cathedral just behind the sundeck, so don’t mistake those for the view from our room. One photo from our window does show the cathedral, and that was amazing too. We’d done a lot of research for somewhere in a good neighborhood where we could walk around anytime and meet other travelers. This place was perfect for that.

It’s gay, and the welcoming setting lets you be yourself and enjoy your stay. The location is great, the price was comfortable, and so was the stay. We were there for a few days over New Year’s. The owners arranged dinner for guests at a nearby restaurant with drag karaoke, and it was a great group of people.

Right in the heart of iconic San Telmo, this is a magnificent little jewel. The staff are friendly, prices reasonable, and the location and atmosphere are both excellent. On Friday nights there’s the famous Milonga Muchaches, which is lots of fun even if you’re new to tango. Highly recommend.

A beautiful historic hotel in San Telmo, and a great place to be in Buenos Aires. Santos and Javier are excellent guys!
