NH Buenos Aires Tango

The terrace has a great view, and the location is perfect. Service was okay, though not especially good. We couldn’t use a restroom during the day, even while waiting for our room, which wasn’t ready until after 6 p.m. because the previous guest left late. The glass in our terrace door was broken from an earlier attempted break-in. Apart from that, we were pleased with the hotel and the amenities we used. We didn’t have breakfast.

The staff were pleasant and helpful during our recent stay. We were there for two nights after a cruise and chose not to have the room serviced, expecting the free drink offered as a green option. The voucher clearly said wine was included, but the young women at the bar wouldn’t accept that we were entitled to it. That spoiled my evening out in Buenos Aires, and my rating of the hotel dropped a lot. Offering a drink and then refusing it makes no sense. It’s a strange marketing policy, especially since the wine could hardly have cost them much.

I had a bad experience this time. When I turned back the sheets to go to bed, they were stained with blood. After I complained, they moved me to a smaller room where the air conditioner gave off a terrible sewage smell. The phone to the concierge didn’t work, and even after I reported it, nobody fixed it.

The breakfast was the only thing I thought was good. The receptionist and the other staff weren’t friendly, and the room’s AC didn’t work. It was 15 degrees outside, and I was cold all night. The rooms are old, and the reception phone call meant I had to answer from the toilet. I came through an agent. When I mentioned a late checkout, the first thing they asked was who would pay. I wouldn’t recommend it.
