Palacio Paz Hotel

The restaurant made this a disappointing stay. Breakfast portions were tiny, guests seemed to have to compete for food, and buffet refills took far too long. The service felt disorganized and stingy. The coffee was the biggest letdown. In a country with such a strong coffee tradition, it was shockingly poor, watery, and tasteless, more like dirty water. That’s unacceptable at breakfast. The hotel itself could use renovation. The facilities feel dated and several pieces of furniture need replacing. The location was excellent, though, with convenient access to transportation and good connections. The surroundings were pleasant and getting around was easy. I think outsourcing the restaurant was a mistake. Hospitality should deliver quality and consistency, and the restaurant didn’t meet even basic expectations.

The service was very good, and the hotel is ideally located in the heart of BA. Breakfast was okay, and otherwise it was a very pleasant stay. There was no AC in the room, so it got quite hot, and there wasn’t a kettle for making tea. Those are two things they could improve.

The room was lovely and big, and the central location was great. The bath tap wouldn’t turn on the water, so I could only use the shower, and it took a while for the hot water to come through. Breakfast was adequate.

The location is incredibly good, in the best part of downtown Buenos Aires, and the service was wonderful. Special thanks to Lucas, who was always helpful and went the extra mile to make us comfortable. The place looks cute, and I do recommend it. The room looked great, but the quality felt below international standards and reminded me that this is an underdeveloped country. The corridor was too dark, though oddly the intense sun came through cracks in the cheap doors. The bathroom is new, but there were white paint stains everywhere. The outlets were Type I only, with three flat pins in a V shape, and none of the common Type C two-round-pin sockets. Lucas gave us an adaptor. The windows weren’t very airtight, so we could hear loud traffic throughout the night, which is normal in BA. I’m sure these things will be fixed in the future.
