Scala Hotel Buenos Aires

The room was lovely, and the view from my 11th-floor balcony was very nice. I didn’t have much time at the hotel, so I couldn’t check out things like the gym or restaurant. The hotel looks great, and I enjoyed my stay. The bed was really comfy. My only issue was the tub: there was no plug, and some black stuff came out of the jacuzzi jets, which put me off taking a bath.

The hotel was clean, and the breakfast was good. It’s well located for visiting the city, but the bathroom needs renovation.

The location was the only thing I liked. The service was the worst I’ve ever had, and this did not feel like international hotel service. Because our tour schedule required an earlier breakfast, the hotel agreed to prepare one. But it wasn’t the quality of their usual breakfast: there were no seats, just bread and coffee, and we paid the normal price. They should have told us what to expect before offering an early breakfast. I was so disappointed. At check-in, they said they’d bring my luggage to my room, but it still hadn’t arrived 40 minutes later. I called reception to ask what was happening. The woman who answered said she couldn’t understand my English and told me to come to reception instead of trying to understand me. That wasn’t the right attitude for someone working at an international hotel. They need reception staff who speak English much better and are more understanding. If you’re considering staying here, I strongly recommend another hotel near this location.

I stayed at Scala Hotel twice in February 2025, and I’m not sure it deserves four stars. My luggage was delayed for one week, so I needed extra help but didn’t get it. At reception, I was met with something close to hostility. The cleaning staff and bell-boys were friendly, and the rooms were OK. The balcony was useless because of the noise from the street/highway.
