Up Congreso Hotel

The location was okay, which was the only real plus. The hotel looked cool in the photos, but that seems to be just the reception. The place was absolutely tiny, smelled odd, and had a strange vibe. Our small, boiling room needed repairs and faced a brick wall. We stayed on a busy weekend in the city, when there weren’t many other options.

We had a really pleasant stay at this centrally located hotel in Buenos Aires. The rooms were very clean, the staff were friendly, and breakfast was good by Buenos Aires standards. I’d happily recommend it.

Gabriel at the front desk was especially good at connecting with guests and helping out with information or solutions. He suggested some great restaurants and local attractions, too. The desk is always staffed, and service throughout the hotel felt personal, with lots of little details handled well. Housekeeping did an excellent job every day, and our room stayed spotless. The shower had strong pressure and plenty of hot water. Thanks!

There was no Wi-Fi during our stay, and the room was dusty and poorly maintained. I wouldn’t stay here again. I’d booked two nights through Booking.com, then deliberately added a paid extra night because our flight landed at 7:00 AM and I didn’t want to wait until the 3:00 PM check-in. I’d also told the hotel our arrival time in advance. Still, after we landed, I got a message saying the hotel had canceled us as a “no-show,” despite that extra night being fully paid. They did accommodate us when we arrived, but charged more than the rate I’d already paid through Booking.com.
