Village Garden Apart Hotel

The location is unbeatable, and breakfast was good. They made the bed each day, and the service was good too. I stayed over the recent long weekend, and had a good experience, though the hotel clearly needs more modernization. My mattress was old, very worn, and saggy. They should look into replacing it.

The location was excellent, but I wouldn't stay here again. We had different people serving us during our two nights. The shower screen wouldn't shut, nor would the swollen bathroom door. The bedroom door needed a hard bang to close, and its lock was stiff. The room lighting was extremely dim, and the dressing mirror was inside the wardrobe. There weren't any blankets in the room, and the mattresses were very soft. Breakfast was available, but on our second morning we waited ten minutes before anyone asked what we wanted. At 10:20 on departure day, they called to ask if we planned to pay for another night because we hadn't checked out. When we paid, they asked whether we wanted change.

I arrived around 2 a.m. because of an emergency, but even though it was obvious the front desk had rooms available, they wouldn't give me one. They pushed only the most expensive option and offered no alternatives. The man who served us was very rude, reluctantly took Apple Pay, and charged more than the advertised price. The staff acted disrespectfully and showed no hospitality, as if serving guests was a bother. A real letdown. I absolutely wouldn't recommend this to foreigners, since the care seems different for them. They leave visitors with a very bad impression of the country and its people.

The staff were very attentive, and the location is good. But the rooms were really run down and cleanliness was poor. It looked like nobody had cleaned under the beds in a while, and I even found a dirty toy there.
