Hostal del Suri

We stayed for a week, and every person working there was incredibly kind. The owners are wonderful, and the price is great. It's simple rather than a five-star hotel, but it's quiet, well looked after, and in a good location.

The location is good and it's inexpensive, but the best part for me was how warmly the host welcomed us. The rooms were very clean, and breakfast was better than what we'd found at other hostels nearby. It was organized well and had different breads and fruit. We like having protein, so I made eggs one morning; the woman kindly cleaned up after me.

We were here for 4 nights and had a really good time. For the price, you get a lot: a private cabana and bathroom, hot shower, fan, breakfast, decent WiFi, private parking, kitchen and fridge access, and friendly staff. It's peaceful, yet just a couple blocks from the main square. Bodega Domingo Hermanos is only two to three blocks away and is a nice, relaxed place for a wine tasting.

The bed was warm and comfortable, and the heater worked well, though the room itself was quite cold because there was no insulation. The bathroom was tiny and had a lot of mould. Wi-Fi was okay, breakfast was good, and there's fenced parking. It's near the main square. At check-in, make sure you have the exact cash, since she didn't have enough change. She said she'd bring me the 50 pesos, but I didn't see her again because she wasn't there when I checked out. I didn't make an issue of it.
