We only managed one night at La Vaca Tranquila, but would gladly have stayed longer. The views were amazing, the rooms comfortable, breakfast good, and the staff very nice. Such a beautiful place.

We spent three nights here, using it as a base to explore the region and relax. It’s well placed near wonderful quebradas and a pleasant town with small restaurants and limited tourist influence. The European owners were welcoming, the manager efficient, and the rooms clean and nicely decorated, with self-catering facilities. There’s a shared kitchen and dining room if needed. All of this came at a reasonable price.

I’ve come here for the last three years, making the 1100-mile trip, and it’s worth it. Anne and Alain are very attentive, and the place is great for resting. They make all the food for a very complete homemade breakfast, and Alain brews a wonderful beer right there.

A peaceful, calm place with lovely rooms and friendly owners. The artisanal beers are excellent, and you can go horseback riding through a great landscape.
