I spent a vacation there a few years ago, and I highly recommend it. The simple cabins, homemade breakfasts, and direct mountain view all give the place a unique feel. With the peace and quiet, it’s easy to disconnect from everything.

You can choose basic, more rustic accommodation at a very affordable price, or go for the newer, more comfortable rooms. The grounds are spacious and natural, with stunning views, lovely scenery, and a large swimming pool. There’s also a barbecue area and outdoor facilities for easy, relaxed meals.

The staff were excellent, and the meals were delicious and plentiful. My cabin was comfortable and cozy, with a beautiful mountain view, and sat within a large park.

The setting is a 20,000 m² park, with the Calabalumba River flowing just a few meters away. You can hear it all the time, and see the mortars carved into the rock by the Comechingones people. The cabins look out over Cerro Uritorco and are very comfortable. Mine had a queen-size bed and two single beds in separate rooms. Breakfast is served in the breakfast area, which also overlooks Uritorco. It’s part of the original farmhouse, standing on the property for over 100 years. In the morning we had a traditional mountain breakfast: tea or coffee, with the option of a second serving, assorted homemade breads, dulce de leche, quince paste, tomato, peach, apricot, chayote squash, butter, white cheese, and cereal. Posada El Remanso is a wonderful place.
