Hostal Del Sol

The staff were very friendly, and the location was good. The place is lovely and renovated, with spacious rooms. But I didn't like being offered a room with a stovetop and then being told cooking wasn't allowed, especially since they provided no utensils, not even anything to heat food. Breakfast could be better too, with some items replaced by ready-to-eat seasonal fruit. They should also improve the cleaning, particularly in the bathroom.

The staff did what they could with the resources and permission they had, so my three stars are for them and the location. The way the place is run seems penny-pinching: we ran out of toilet paper twice in one week, had no bathroom towel for three days, and breakfast ran out of cold cuts with the promise of more the next day. It was pretty frustrating at times. Room service and the whole property were noticeably lacking in hygiene. Breakfast deserves its own paragraph, but I'll leave it out to avoid being cruel.

The staff's service was the best part. The girls did everything they could for us with the limited resources they had. Otherwise, it's an aparthotel that's just barely adequate: there's nowhere to cook and no cooking equipment. The pool was poorly maintained, without enough cleaning or chlorine, which isn't acceptable for a public pool. I don't know why the parking lot isn't available. When the hotel is full, you have to park several blocks away. Breakfast was pretty meager too, just two slices of cold cuts for three people.

The pool is great, and the staff are really attentive and helpful. There’s also a barbecue area, plus tables where you can bring food and eat. Very pleasant. The place is simple, but has enough amenities for a few days.
