A lovely place to unwind, and a handy base if you’re planning to visit bodegas. Everyone at reception and in the restaurant was cheerful and ready to help. We’d happily come back.

We couldn’t get proper rest because management didn’t respond to noise complaints. They allowed a band to play loudly until after 11:30 pm on 03/27/2026. I wouldn’t recommend staying somewhere you can’t count on being able to sleep.

The staff are the one bright spot here. They do what they can, even though it’s clear they’re overwhelmed. I hope they stay, because they’re the only part of the hotel that really stands out. For the price, this feels more like a place for a quick stop than somewhere to relax. Noise from groups coming back from weddings or parties carries through the hallways and echoes into the rooms, making a good night’s sleep very difficult. Vegan food options are practically nonexistent, too. The rooms are cramped and uncomfortable even for two people. There’s no bedside table at either side of the bed, and the bathroom space isn’t used well. There’s no bidet, and the shower has a damaged floor and no drain cover, which is hard to overlook at this level. Housekeeping seems stretched thin and doesn’t stick to the cleaning schedule. Breakfast gets chaotic when lots of guests arrive together because there aren’t enough tables. The hotel promises more than it delivers.

The nicest parts of our long Carnival weekend with family were the views, the complimentary glasses of wine, and the people working there. Reception was very friendly and attentive, apart from one person. The breakfast team and the staff at Surco were lovely, too. The food I tried at Surco was delicious and fairly priced. The pool area needs attention. The main pool is small and only has a ladder, so it’s not easy for older people or anyone with limited mobility to get in. Paint was peeling across the bottom of the shallow pool, there were no umbrellas, and at least two loungers were broken. The shower in the barbecue area bathrooms flooded and overflowed. When we told staff, their answer to everything was that they were at maximum capacity. Being told the hotel is only a year and a half old doesn’t excuse the poor upkeep during peak season. Our room wasn’t cleaned well. The towels were stained and had holes, the bath mats were frayed, and the armchair and bed cushion were stained. We kept having to ask for extra toilet paper, even when the roll in use was already half gone. I’m also still waiting for the invoice they said they’d send by WhatsApp. With these issues, I don’t think the hotel merits a four-star rating.
