Rincón del Socorro

The excursions cover a range of habitats and species, and Margarita was a standout guide. She knows the local plants and wildlife inside out, has a great sense of humor, and speaks fluent English. Staff were always friendly and ready to help, and the food was excellent, with portions more than enough for us despite what some people say. Wildlife wanders freely around the stunning grounds, sometimes right up close to the rooms without seeming afraid of people. One night we almost tripped over a capybara asleep just outside our door. Rincón del Socorro felt close to paradise. We’ll definitely return one day. Highly recommended!

The rewilding work was fascinating, and learning about the projects and history made the visit feel unique. The staff were wonderful and made the experience, and seeing all the birds and other wildlife is highly recommended. It may be worth asking about flying directly to the property.

There are two activities each day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, so they keep you busy for most of the day. Our stay felt warm and homely, with only about 15 other people around. The grounds were lush and green, and the rooms spacious, with nice wooden furniture for a rustic feel. There was plenty of wildlife and lots of chances for photos. The staff were friendly, knew a lot about the wetlands, and answered all our questions. The kitchen was able to cater for me as a vegetarian, and our waitress was lovely. Getting there can be a pain. We took the plane instead of making the 8 hour journey. Apart from that, I can’t really find anything wrong with the place. It was a lovely experience and worth the price. I’d highly recommend it, since you won’t experience this anywhere else.
