Hotel Riviera

I booked by phone, but when I got there they'd given my reserved room to someone else and tried to put me in a more expensive one. It was a really bad experience, so I went to another hotel instead.

Everything was stolen from our room after someone broke in through the window. They took our cell phones, money, and other belongings, and there was no security in the rooms. The hotel checked the security footage and saw the thieves entering, but refused to take responsibility. They know who the thieves are, and it seems this happens often. Don't go there.

We had to find somewhere at the last minute through Booking.com after our reservation at another place was cancelled. The night attendant and the morning employee were the only good part of the stay. The morning employee gave us hot water for our mate. There was no hot water from the sink and no shower curtain. The toilet flushed, but the bowl was dirty and had hair in it. The floor didn't look clean either, and there were cobwebs by the entrance.

It's a simple, somewhat old hotel, but it's kept up well. What makes the difference is the staff, who are attentive, helpful, and empathetic.
