Macanudo Hostelbar

There are often lots of foreigners around, and people regularly perform. Last time, a really cool guy was rapping right there. The mood is relaxed and suits a younger crowd, with a patio for smoking. Service is excellent and prices are average to mid-range. The decor is nice, though the ugly bathroom takes away from it.

Live bands are a big plus, and the bar makes some really original signature cocktails. The food is just okay, and the ambiance isn't especially polished, though it has its own charm. It's a casual place to have a good time, with good service.

The shower was my main issue. The water pressure is weak, and the temperature can't be regulated, so it swings between freezing and scalding. In both bathrooms, the shower curtains were held up with wire and fell down. You also have to reach inside the toilet tanks to flush. Those things could be improved, but otherwise everything was perfect, and I'd definitely return to Macanudo on another trip. The hostel itself is great: well located, spacious, and very nice, with friendly staff and a very good price. Breakfast was very good too, with fruit, coffee, bread, and pastries. The bar is always busy and has good prices.

I love Liniers, which is obviously part of why this is one of my favorite hostels so far. The atmosphere is really pleasant, the guys there are super friendly, and the bar has a good range of entertainment at night. It's got everything a traveler looks for =)
