Our room was right behind reception and opposite the stairs to the breakfast room, so it was quite noisy. Wind also came through the window seals and made the room less comfortable. We’d mentioned ahead of time that we were coming for a special event, and although they noted it, it didn’t really seem to be taken into account. The $20 lunch boxes came with a sandwich, an apple, a cereal bar, and a bottle of water. That felt overpriced by local standards. The stay was okay, though some improvements would make it more enjoyable.

Jonah, the lady who works there, has amazing energy and is very helpful. The hospitality was great. The rooms were clean and spacious, and this was the only place with a kettle in the room.

The lake is nearby, and we enjoyed a lovely walk. We also had dinner and drinks with lots of young local people at the nearby bar-cafe-restaurant La Cantina. But the accommodation photo looks charming, while the actual view is of some backyards. It’s quite far from the center, in a not especially pleasant area. The carpets were dirty, and the shower had no pressure.

The staff were very friendly and spoke English well. The rooms are cozy and clean, though quite small, and the breakfast selection was a bit limited, even if everything was homemade. The hotel is a little outside the center, but it’s only about a 15-minute walk. Make sure to have dinner at El cucharon just around the corner. One problem: the laundry bag was actually 23k ARS, but they charged 35k ARS because it was too full. That’s a rip-off.

The owner is a lovely, smiley lady, and her attention to guests makes the stay better. Service was great, breakfast was good with everything you need, and we’re very thankful they arranged an airport transfer for us. We were leaving on Christmas, when no taxis were working, so that was a big help. The location is okay: El Calafate is small, and the center is a 10-15 minute walk away. There’s an amazing lake and mountain view nearby. A very good, family-friendly place. We recommend it!
