Hotel del Glaciar Libertador

The staff really make this place. I was greeted warmly, and the woman at reception explained where to eat and shop and what to do. It's a charming hotel with very friendly people. My room was basic, but clean and comfortable, the bathroom was clean, and breakfast was good. A wonderful place, highly recommended.

The beds were exactly what my back needed. They were so comfortable I nearly overslept! The hotel itself is comfortable and well equipped, with a delicious breakfast, a nice bar, and laundry service. I'd highly recommend it. We ran into severe weather on our way to El Calafate, and high winds closed the roads. Nicolás at reception was incredibly patient, attentive, and kind while helping us rearrange our bus tickets to El Chaltén. He went above and beyond from the start. I'm grateful to him and to all the lovely people who work here. You can tell they care about their work. Thank you, everyone.

The rooms weren't very soundproof. I could hear people in the hall and even guests in their own rooms, and a few mornings staff woke me by walking along the hallway and opening and slamming doors. There was no mini-fridge, which was annoying. Breakfast was basic, though handy before setting off on a trek. It feels more like a hostel with private rooms than a hotel, and more like two-star quality. Still, the room and bed were fine for my three-day stay, and we got fresh towels and bedding each day. It's only a few minutes from the main street's restaurants and shops. It was fine for my stay, so I can't complain too much.

Breakfast was simple and tasty, with fresh bread and marmalades, plus eggs, ham, and cheese on request. Housekeeping kept our room tidy even when we rushed out. We spent five days at Hotel del Glacier Libertador, and Agustín at reception was especially helpful and patient. He arranged an early check-in at 9 a.m. after our morning flight, gave us useful tips, and helped book a trip to El Chaltén. The hotel looks just like the photos, and the hospitality stood out. Highly recommended!
