The meat was great, and the salad was okay. We enjoyed the meal, and the man running the place was really friendly, so we were willing to overlook the salad. But getting the check took nearly half an hour after we asked. We know it was busy, but after a long trek we wanted to get to bed and ended up missing the sunset while waiting. They need more staff during busy periods.

The atmosphere felt warm and familiar, and the people working there were friendly and helpful. They even brought us extra food we hadn't ordered once, including a big steak. My parents and I were very happy with the place despite the negative reviews about hygiene and food quality. We went for all five of our dinners there. Prices were lower than at the other restaurants and parrillas on the main street, and the meat was amazing. We've eaten in a lot of places and were really impressed. I'd recommend it. Try the Lomo, bife, and Cordero. I found the Cordero a little too fatty, though I don't have much experience with it.

The grilled lamb was tender and moist, but our glass of wine came with an insect in it. The restaurant was fairly empty at 8 pm and still took more than half an hour to bring the food.

Dinner was really good value for El Chaften, and the meat was very good. They don't take cards, but do accept pesos, USD, and Euros.

The setting was really nice, and the meat was top quality. I'd never had filet mignon this tender before. Thank Como Vaca!!!
