I stayed six nights in June, before ski season gets going at the end of June or start of July. At 30,000 pesos a night, the price was very affordable for a private, secure place with a kitchenette and lots of comfortable space. I had apartment #15 in the back. The property was clean, with rooms in the front building and apartments behind. Andres manages the place and answered my messages promptly, even when I locked myself out. He was helpful, checked whether I needed anything else, and asked how my visit to Ushuaia was going. Two large cars parked right outside the apartments looked a bit odd, but it wasn't much of a bother. The apartment has a southern view of the harbor from its large window and doorway. From the street, there's also a wide gap between buildings where you can see mountains to the east. It's only three blocks uphill from San Martin, the main street, but the walk is steep and the sidewalks had been icy for the last two days. Users were quick and cost about 2,000-3,000 pesos to get around the main parts of town. The kitchen had supplies for cooking, including a cutting board, chopping knife, dishes for two, a mini grater, and a wine opener. They also provided olive oil and salt. There was a coffee maker and a hot water kettle above the microwave. A broom and squeegee were there for cleaning, and guests are expected to wash the dishes and tidy up before leaving. I was given two large towels, two medium ones, shampoo, conditioner, a small bar of soap, and two rolls of toilet paper. The shower is quite small but has strong pressure and gets hot quickly. There’s a western toilet and a bidet. I didn't turn on the TV, so I can't say what channels it has or whether the wifi works for streaming. There are two dogs on the property. They sometimes barked when I came or went, but weren't aggressive, and it didn't bother me. The side street is very steep, so the entrance can be tricky. If it's too slippery, you can go in through the front and use black metal steps down to the back. The place is not accessible for people with disabilities, either at the front or side entrances. For security, there's a keypad on the side gate and an electric lock on the apartment doors. Andreas gave me both codes on a piece of paper, which I misplaced one day. I later photographed it, but my phone died too. Putting the paper in your wallet, as I did later, is probably a good idea. The apartment has two gas heaters and one electric one. I wasn't cold, though it could have been a little warmer. You can ask to have the heat turned up if needed. Some older reviews were very critical, and I don't agree with what they said. If you want a view from the window, ask about the rooms inside on the third floor facing the harbor. From what I saw, it's a good option for solo travelers or two people sharing a room. If you're visiting Ushuaia and want an affordable place with plenty of space, I hope you'll give it a try. #journeyingjamie #jamieinargentina #jamieinternationallyknown #shelivesontheroad #shesharestheroad #weshouldallknowthesethings #thingslookdifferentouthere #kindnessmatters #aclarifiedwoman

The owners were incredibly kind. When the taxi they called for me to get to the airport didn't show up, the owner drove me there himself. Sloggett is wonderfully clean, and there's a great view from the lobby and most rooms. It's tucked away from the main streets but still close enough to walk into the city center. Highly recommend staying here!

This isn't worth what you end up paying. Booking recalculated the price at the official exchange rate, but when we wanted to pay in pesos the owner used the black market rate. In our case, at that time, 30,000 ARS a night was converted to 80 USD and then recalculated to about 80,000 ARS. Paying by card also came with a 7% surcharge. You can get a real hotel for a third of the price. I wouldn't consider this a 3-star hotel, since it doesn't meet most of the requirements. There was no soap, shampoo, or anything like that, but we did find a collection of dead and live bugs. Our deluxe room was outside the main building in a backyard full of rental cars. There were also barking dogs there, and they jumped on us and ruined our clothes. The room had no view because a rental car park was right in front of it. Don't bother booking this place.
