Estancia Bonanza Patagonian Lodge Experience

I didn’t stay at the estancia, but I absolutely loved the full-day horseback riding tour. Clara and her colleague helped everyone feel comfortable and safe, showed us the beautiful nature, and answered all our questions. Clara’s enthusiasm for the environment, nature, and animals was special. The short hike to a viewpoint during the lunch break was fabulous, and so was the freshly cooked meal by the lagoon. Thanks for a beautiful day. I hope to come back for another tour with Clara!

The view was breathtaking, the food was amazing, and the room was super clean with a cozy cottage feel. The staff were friendly and so helpful. We loved horseback riding, and my only regret is not signing up for the full-day ride. Staying at Estancia Bonanza was a highlight of our South America trip, and everything exceeded our expectations. Thank you, Bonanza team, for such a wonderful experience.

The view and scenery were good, but the operation was a shambles otherwise. We booked a mountain biking tour with lunch for $380,000 ARS at the Bonanza booking office in El Chalten. The guide was very nice and accommodating, but we kept stopping, and there was very little riding. It lasted about 1 hr, was low difficulty, and wasn’t like the video at the booking centre. At the lunch spot, a restaurant, staff ignored us for over an hour, presumably because we arrived early after the short ride. Other tables were offered food and drinks. I had to ask for a drink, then got charged for it. When we asked about lunch, they said it wasn’t included, but after we showed the booking they agreed lunch and a drink were included. The food was poor, and there was a septic or toilet smell from under the floor near our corner table. The men’s toilet was blocked, too. When we left, we were told there was no transport back to El Chartlen. We explained we were on a tour and were told it would be 10 minutes. That was 40 minutes ago. Hopeless!

We did the 2 hour ride with dinner, and it was an amazing experience. The horses were gentle and knew what to do, even with complete beginners like us. The trail crossed some gorgeous parts of the ranch and felt like a dream. The dining area was beautiful, and the food was delicious. Our guides were lovely, and the photos don’t do the place justice. If you’re considering booking, just do it!
